How did you get started with bodybuilding?
I would always see this young gentleman training at the gym I went to in Oakville. One day… I saw him randomly at the Tanning Salon I went too, and that’s where we ended up chatting about it all. What he did… How he did it (bodybuilding shows) and that’s when he gave me his Personal Training card. I wasn’t the type who could picture myself in a bikini and heels on stage as I was very much the typical “Tom boy” type of girl. I thought about it here and there for about 6-7 months and then decided why not try something new for a change and get outside my comfort zone. So, I started training with him for my first show and never really looked back (7 years later now).
I never imagined this to be honest. I remember telling my parents for the first time. They said “ya ya, sure. We will see it when it happens” as I was always the type to take on many tasks and not complete them or get halfway through and realize I didn’t want to continue, so no one took me seriously. Until I walked up on that stage. I had my whole family there cheering me on, and I remember my dad telling me how proud he was of me as I won my first show and didn’t give up on it or myself!
Was a proud moment for myself also. Gave me a whole new outlook on life and what I was actually capable of “IF” I actually put everything into something without giving up on myself during the process. Hard work always pays off, right! 🙂

How do you stay so motivated? What drives you?
People around me motivate me. My family, my friends, my mother (she’s always my #1 motivator) as she pushes me never to give up and no matter what we go through in life to keep your head held high and keep moving forward.
What is your training routine like?
Right now it’s 4 days full body workouts. Focusing on my weakest points to keep an overall balanced physique.

If you had to choose only 3 exercises, what would they be and why?
I would choose 3 exercises I’ve never done before and learn them. Why? Because learning new things is a gift. I love challenging myself and learning new techniques!
What is your favourite form of cardio?
STAIRMASTER… 100%!!!
What is your diet like?
Balanced… Higher carbs/lower fat/protein at the moment!

What supplements do you use?
Magnum Nutraceuticals:

- ACID - CLA
- Quattro Chocolate love
- Hi5 - BCAA
- Mimic - For my higher carb days (like now) 🙂
What are the highlights of your fitness career?
Just seeing what my body was capable of was for sure a highlight, seeing it change… putting on muscle, looking at my first year and then now. It’s crazy what we can do and how we sculpt our bodies!!
Another highlight was obtaining my IFBB pro status in 2010. Was a moment I’ll never forget!
